What an empty house gives away
Once the furniture is gone, every spot the furniture hid is on display. Crumbs inside the microwave, a film in the oven, the shelves of the fridge and freezer, the grime packed into window tracks and the dust on the molding all become the first things a buyer, landlord or new tenant sees.
That is why a move in or move out clean is a different job from a regular visit. Oven and fridge interiors are extras on a regular house clean, and on a move they are part of the work from the start, along with the freezer, the closets, the window tracks and the molding.

Working through the house in order
We go top down, the same way we clean any home. Ceiling fans, light fixtures, cobwebs and air vents first, then the walls, doors and handles, switch plates and the molding along the baseboards.
Kitchens and bathrooms get the longest attention. Cabinets are wiped inside as well as outside, the appliances are cleaned inside and out, the sinks, tubs and tile are worked through, and the closets are cleared of dust and shelf marks. Window tracks get their own pass with the interior glass and blinds.
Floors come last: sweeping, vacuuming and mopping once everything above has stopped shedding.
Between the movers and the keys
